iD Tech Internship Overview

Week One: Roblox Entrepreneur

Roblox is one of the fastest-growing game creation platforms on the planet, with more than 60 million players per month and top developers making over $1 million a year. In this course, you'll use Roblox’s built-in editor to create 3D worlds and then use Lua to code game mechanics. Publish, share, and play games with friends on any platform from console to mobile. Study games that have been runaway hits and learn how to implement some of the same monetization strategies.

Week Two: Code Apps with C++

Learn the fundamentals of C++, one of the world's most essential programming languages, with applications spanning from system software to video games. Knowing C++ opens the door to the vast world of coding and development, no matter what you dream up. Use the industry-standard Microsoft Visual Studio Community to create impressive projects during the week.

Week Three: Java Coding: Build Mods with Minecraft

Dig into the Minecraft source code to explore the fundamentals of the Java programming language by creating custom blocks, items, and mods for Minecraft. This course introduces Java programming in an accessible way that's sure to get students excited about a future in coding.

Week Five: CodeMaker: Code and Design Games with Scratch

In this coding adventure, aspiring innovators create fun animated stories and games while learning essential programming concepts with Scratch. Using sprites and blocks, this drag-and-drop platform developed by MIT sets a foundation of computational thinking—an essential skill in today’s tech-driven world—by using bright visuals and engaging design.
